Le Monde: A magyar kérdés Washington radarján villog

Brüsszelnek foglalkoznia kell a magyar demokráciadeficittel

Brüsszel szemben a magyar demokráciadeficittel címmel közölt elemzést a Le Monde.

A felháborodások oka?

Orbán utóbb relativizálni próbálta a mondottak lényegét.

A brüsszeli kapcsolatok legjobb szakértőjét, Győri Enikőt eltávolították Madridba nagykövetnek.

Le Monde: The Hungarian issue in Washington radar flashes
Brussels must deal with the Hungarian demokráciadeficittel

Brussels to the analysis published in Le Monde titled Hungarian demokráciadeficittel. Joelle Stolz, Vienna correspondent of the standard liberal sheet under after Hungarian question” Washington’s radar has been added, and the western boards have complained editorial writings against Brussels inactivity Viktor Orban’s policies, the new Commission will have to find the appropriate way to address the problem.

The European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has led the Dutch Frans Timmermans filled the post for European valuables. Sooner or later, have to deal with the case of Hungary. Launched in 2010, led by Viktor Orban’s conservative nationalist country in Central Europe also raises the same problem that has been reported in the European Union creators of: respect, although the Maastricht fiscal criteria, but an emerging democratic deficit accumulates.

Against the Hungarian government, the opposition, civil society organizations held too early in his campaign for months, from which it refuses to use suggested by the Norwegian aid is just another episode. The press, the educational system, judiciary, economic and cultural institutions have been surrendered, as in the previous cycle after holding the Fidesz controlled two-thirds of the seats in parliament, and has two-thirds of the Constitutional Court as well.

Tolerant to hold the EU to one of the Member States, while remaining below the permitted threshold of 3 per cent budget deficit, ease away from the norms in force in the European family, whether in the media or leave a potential policy guaranteeing alternative?

Although the Hungarian question is not among the priorities in Brussels, Washington’s radar has been placed. President Barack Obama said in support of civil unions before Clinton Global Initiative organization called speech stated that “Hungary Egypt increasingly open-ending regulations and intimidation targeting civil society.”

Unprecedented since the transition to the American president, Viktor Orbán’s Hungary Vladimir Putin’s Russia and the Aliyev clan, is treated as a Azerbajdzsánjával. Previously, a Vienna meeting of the American representative to OSCE human rights, democracy and the rule of law, respect for obligations warned Budapest.

Former American President Bill Clinton put it less diplomatically. The Hungarian prime minister says he likes the authoritarian capitalism – said in a TV show. But that’s just hold that insists on power.
“In general, these are characters who want to stay in power forever, and money to do it.”

These comments followed the unflattering editorial standards covering the major American newspapers, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, but the German conservative newspapers, Die Welt and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, published in the summer. All surprising passivity in Brussels held against Orban, who has just received a check for more than the European support of € 25 billion.

THE STATE illiberal

The reason for outrage? In a speech that Orban’s Fidesz said in late July summer university in Transylvania under the Romania, where a high proportion of the Hungarian population. In Orban praised the benefits of the illiberal state in which economic efficiency is not a lot of attention to the democratic rules. Singapore, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Russia and China by way of example.

This list is provoked consternation, as an EU and NATO member country received. The University of Oxford in response to which the young Urban learned the history of liberalism, has removed the name of the famous line of students.

Orban later tried to relativise the essence of what has been said. The ambassadors’ meeting in Budapest at the end of August, it held that the sorozatlövéssel want to be punished for having criticized the Western sanctions imposed against Russia because of the merits of the Ukrainian crisis.

At this point, you’re right: the United States, Poland and the Baltic countries, like Hungary, as the weak link in NATO. The western fortress “Moscow Trojan horses became” the Princeton University teacher Jan-Werner Müller below. Articles published in Foreign Affairs in Central Europe, experts believed that Orban the executive power and no inhibitions Putin’s nationalism based on the dominant model applied.”

Despite the fact that the budget Budapest budget increase promised by NATO, the political signals are clearly directed to the east. The best expert contacts in Brussels, Győr removed Enikő ambassador to Madrid. And the new foreign minister, Peter Szijjártó (former Speaker Orban) in the past two years, the Asian and Russian forced speed ances was responsible.

Short-lived predecessor, Tibor Navracsics, who was Minister of Justice for a long time, responsible for Education and Culture Commissioner in Brussels. The hearing in the European Parliament can expect unpleasant questions, at least from the Green and Liberal States. The question whether after this session, to the European Union to find the right tools to properly face the Hungarian issue.”
