Magyar történelemből leckézteti Orbánt Goodfriend

István királytól és II. János Páltól idéz a külügyi ügyvivő, azt nem írja, hogy kinek címezi az írásokat, de kettőt találhat mindenki.

Illetve még azt is, hogy „Egynyelvű és egyszokású királyság gyönge és törékeny”.

Goodfriend nemcsak az első magyar király szavait ajánlja olvasásra, hanem II. János Pál gondolatait is, méghozzá a magyarokhoz intézett üzenetét. A katolikus egyházfő 2000-ben a millenium alkalmából írt beszédében többek közt a fenti idézetet említi István királytól. A pápa szerint az intelmekez egyébként az uralkodó nemcsak fiának, hanem az össze jövőbeli magyar generációnak, és koronája örököseinek címezte.
