Még épp időben megfékezte Putyint az Interpol

Új elnököt választott szerdai közgyűlésén az Interpol, miután a nemzetközi rendőrségi szervezet korábbi első embere, a kínai Meng Hung-vej októberben lemondott, mert hazájában korrupció gyanújával őrizetbe vették. A szavazást némi meglepetésre az eddig ügyvezetőként elnökként tevékenykedő dél-koreai Kim Dzsong Jang nyerte, aminek a legkevésbé sem örülhet Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök.

Megtalálták a hibát a gépezetben

A kémfilmekkel ellentétben az Interpolnak nincs hatásköre bűncselekmények kivizsgálására és körözött személyek letartóztatására, sokkal inkább egy információs központként működik, amely adatokkal segíti a hatóságokat a szökevények elfogásában. A 192 tagállam a szervezettől kérheti nemzetközi elfogatóparancsok kiadását.

Putin was intercepted by Interpol just in time

author: Vaskor Máté

New President has been elected at Wednesday’s assembly by Interpol, after the former Meng Hung-vey of the international police organization resigned in October because of his suspected corruption in his home country. The vote was somewhat surprised by South Korea’s Kim Jhang Jang, who has so far served as President, and which President Vladimir Putin is the least pleased with.

The post was Alexandr Prokopchuk, former Russian interior ministry officer, the other candidate. Although they thought it was much more likely to win, the United States and several European countries made sharp criticisms of it, and it proved to be effective. The White House and their European counterparts have been lobbying against Prokopchuk, because they have been kept by the Russians even more abusing the Interpol Red Circle list than they had done before.

They found the mistake in the machine

Contrary to spy movies, Interpol has no power to investigate crimes and arrest arrested persons, rather as an information center, which helps authorities to capture fugitives. The 192 member states can request the organization to issue international arrest warrants.

The Kremlin has used Interpol for years to request the arrest of its outgoing opponents, which Prokopcsuk had a significant role to play. For more than a decade, he served in the Russian Ministry of Home Affairs and mostly mediated between Interpol and the Russian state.

The international organization has repeatedly denied issuing the arrest warrant when it felt that the charges were guilty or motivated by politics. Russia did not even feel embarrassed, and Interpol has another kind of warning system, which is not obliged to review it.
They will eliminate everyone who is on their way

Bill Browder is a British-American businessman, one of those whom the Russians have been willing to hand in hand at all costs in recent times. The entrepreneur was one of the main critics of Putin and then launched a campaign against the state’s allegedly murdering his lawyer, Sergei Magnyszkijt.

He then fought for long for Western countries to impose sanctions on Russia for human rights violations. Moscow expelled him and handed him an arrest warrant with Interpol, and he was arrested in Spain, which he broadcast live on his community site. Although released, the incident highlights the fact that Interpol’s exalted system of Kremlin influence is still vulnerable.

The other example is the case of Eerik-Niiler Kross, an Estonian Nato politician, who is heading for the defense of Georgia as a director of the Estonian secret service to Russia. In response, Interpol issued a red alert on behalf of the Russians on the evening of Estonian elections.

An American citizen living in Copenhagen was detained for two months in one of the country’s most heavily guarded prisons after being arrested on the basis of Interpol’s indictment. They were not accused of anything, and during the investigation, it turned out that Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s Russian disbelief with a billionaire contractor had to go beyond the will of the Russians.

In a letter written by a US Senator, the decision was that Prokopchuk’s election would have been as if they were casting a fox on a fox, while others argued that the Mafia would have transferred power to Interpol.

Dmitry Peszkov, the spokesman for the Kremlin, gently suggested that some kind of intervention was made in the vote.

Of course we are sorry that not our candidate has won, but if we look at the country’s position on the evening before the vote, then we see that there was a lot of pressure,

He said, adding that the legitimacy of the outcome is indisputable.
Who is the South Korean who defeated the Russian candidate?

The 57-year-old Kim Jhang Jang was previously the most populous South Korea

The 57-year-old Kim Jhang Jang was former police chief of Kjonggi, the most populous South Korean province.

So far he has worked as Interpol’s first vice president, and after the mysterious disappearance of Chinese Meng, he became the managing director of the organization. His mandate is only two years old, so much remains of his predecessor’s cycle.

There are never-before-seen changes in the world that are a huge challenge in the field of public security. To overcome them, we need a clear vision, a bridge must be built towards the future

– said Kim after choosing.

Although the president’s duty on paper alone is to dispose of meetings, he does not have to be involved in daily work because he is responsible for the Jürgen Stock, but his influence is significant and he selects the directives. Most feared that since the president was not just a showcaster, the success of the Russian candidate would have become an instrument of an authoritarian government as a political instrument for Interpol.

Kim’s victory may also give Kosovo hope for membership in the organization. The tiny Balkan country proclaimed its independence from Serbia in 2008, but Russia does not recognize it.
