A NASA a Kennedy Űrközpont földi műveleteit rögzítette ezekre a nagy formátumú szalagokra.

The new documentary, featuring unparalleled original recordings, introduces your first moon to your Apollo-11 mission.

In January, the American cinemas broadcast their debut at the Sundance Film Festival. The Apollo-11 spacecraft carried out its historic mission between 16 and 24 July 1969. The moon was followed by the whole world with tense attention on the TV screen. However, the original documentary has also been found with original recordings in the US National Archives Warehouse, which have not yet been released. The film cubes have been digitized by a team of experts, and this has been used by the production, Phys.org reported.

“Half of the film is made up of pictures we haven’t seen before,” said Todd Douglas Miller director.

The documentary is very spectacular: in a scene, the cinema screen is completely filled by the huge crawler supplier of the American Space Research Agency (NASA).

Exciting recordings, 177 pieces of 65 millimeter film rolls were discovered by Dan Rooney, a senior member of the archive’s film section. There was hardly any information on the rolls, and he did not really point out that the original recordings of Apollo-11 flipped in the storage space of a storehouse below zero degrees Celsius in the outskirts of Maryland.

The archive has released 279 rolls of film with 16, 35, 60, and 70 millimeter film strips. The 65 and 70 millimeter films were considered to be the luxury of the era, projected in cinemas in the 1950s and 60s.

The Moonwalk One documentary, presented in 1972, only used a portion of the scrolls.

According to Rooney, NASA probably did not use the movies because it was difficult to handle this great format and no proper equipment and experts were available.

Apollo-11 started off the Earth on July 16, 1969 with astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.

NASA recorded the ground operations of the Kennedy Space Center on these large format tapes. Armstrong’s spaceship appears in breathtaking pictures. The film also captured the massive crowd gathered with binoculars at Cocoa Beach to witness the departure and the fact that the NASA control room was full of white-shirted and dark-necked men.

In addition to large format images, many smaller-format recordings were made by astronauts during the mission, but they were already visible on YouTube.

The director has digitized some of the previously published recordings, including the landing of the Eagle Moon Module, so this extremely exciting part of the documentary can be seen in excellent quality and color.

In the documentary, the narrator, originally mediator of the mission, is the voice of the legendary CBS presenter of Walter Cronkite, as well as the original dialogue between the crew and the Houston control center.

According to Rooney, all the original film tapes are likely to have been found and processed, but it is not entirely certain that they have never been left there.
