A közigazgatás átláthatóságáért felelős venezuelai hivatal csütörtökön korrupció gyanúja miatt 15 évre eltiltotta Guaidót mindenféle közhivatal viselésétől.

The Venezuelan Supreme Court proposed on Monday that a government-led constitutional assembly would suspend the opposition to the parliamentary immunity of Juan Guaido, who declared himself a provisional head of state and also known by some 50 countries.

Guaido is the National Assembly, the President of the Parliament, in which the opposition is the majority of Venezuelan institutions alone. For this reason, the Supreme Court, which is considered by the opposition as executor of the instructions of the government headed by Nicolás Maduro, stated that the right to suspend Guaido’s immunity was delegated to the head of the constitutional assembly. The board explained its reasoning that Guaido had violated his ban on leaving the country. From late February to early March, Guaido was in Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Ecuador. These countries support the Venezuelan change of power.

The Venezuelan Office for Transparency of Public Administration forbade Guaido from wearing public offices on Thursday for 15 years due to suspected corruption. The president of the office then said that, according to their assumptions, Guaido had “concealed or forgotten his property statement, at the same time he had unauthorized money from international and national organizations”. The opposition leader called the announcement of a ban on “farce” and stated that this office did not exist, because it could only be appointed by the parliament and not by the constitutional assembly.

Guaido called on his supporters on Monday to continue their street protests because of power cuts and water shortages, according to which Maduro, as political capital, uses the frequent interruption of power supply. Maduro announced a 30-day power cut on Monday.
