Donald Trump közben a floridai Mar-a-Lago countryklubjába utazott, ahol a Hálaadás ünnepét tölti családjával.

Impeachment US House of Representatives Invites Donald Trump to Hearing Dec. 4

The US House Judiciary’s Justice Committee has invited US President Donald Trump to a hearing on December 4 to represent him or not to complain.

“The president can choose to either represent himself at impeachment hearings or stop complaining about the proceedings,” Jerrold Nadler, the Democratic leader of the committee, said in a statement Tuesday that he sent a letter to the president on Friday and reminded him to this: the committee’s rules allow the president to attend hearings and ask questions of legal counsel to witnesses.

Nadler expressed the hope that the president would choose the first solution and attend the hearing in person or through his legal representatives and gave Donald Trump a deadline to decide by Sunday, December 1 this week.

The Democratic pro-politician also stated in his letter to the president that the hearing provides an opportunity to discuss the historical and constitutional foundations of the impeachment process and the content of the terms “grave sin” and “misconduct.”

The White House did not respond to Nadler’s letter or the media. Meanwhile, Donald Trump traveled to the Mar-a-Lago Country Club in Florida, where he and his family are celebrating Thanksgiving.

Impeachment is the process of constitutionally dismissing American presidents. This time, Democratic lawmakers initiated pre-trial hearings, referring to a July telephone conversation between Ukrainian President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. In that conversation, the US president raised with his Ukrainian colleague that he could look into the Ukrainian business of former Vice President Joe Biden, a current Democratic presidential candidate and son, Hunter Biden, and related corruption allegations. Hunter Biden became a member of the board of directors of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma when Biden was vice president of the United States for significant remuneration.

Democrats have accused Trump of abusing his power by holding back US military aid promised to Kiev in return for investigations into Ukraine. President Trump and Republican politicians deny this, and often argue that the majority of officials so far heard only hear about the content of the phone conversation and interpret and comment on the matter rather than list facts.
