Magyarország lett az európai kóser húsellátás egyik központja a világjárvány alatt///Hungary became one of the centers of kosher meat supply in Europe during the pandemic

A kóser élelmiszer-ellátásban világszerte komoly visszaesések tapasztalhatók a koronavírus miatti intézkedések következtében.

Az európai zsidó közösségek kóser húskészletei csökkenésének egyik fő oka, hogy az életbe lépett utazási korlátozások miatt a kóser vágásra szakosodott sakterek nem tudtak visszautazni a vágóhidakra.

További problémát okoz a járványügyi előírásoknak megfelelő logisztika kialakítása, így a legtöbb európai üzem átmenetileg bezárásra kényszerült. Az EMIH közbenjárására a magyar kormány engedélyével az elmúlt hetekben hat sakter, azaz kósersági felügyelő, rabbi és metsző érkezett a csengelei vágóhídra, az európai kóser húsellátás segítése érdekében.

A rabbik a COVID-19 járvány járványügyi előírásait betartva, negatív teszttel érkeznek az országba. A héten további hat sakter érkezését várják.

In cooperation with the United Hungarian Jewish Community (EMIH) and the Hungarian government, a slaughterhouse in Hungary supplies a significant part of the European kosher meat supply during the pandemic, ensuring the livelihood of two hundred workers.

There are serious declines in the kosher food supply worldwide as a result of measures taken by the coronavirus.

One of the main reasons for the decline in kosher meat stocks in European Jewish communities is that shakers specializing in kosher slaughter have not been able to travel back to slaughterhouses due to travel restrictions that have come into effect.

Another problem is the development of logistics in line with epidemiological standards, which has forced most European plants to close temporarily. With the permission of the EMIH, with the permission of the Hungarian government, six shakers, ie kosher inspectors, rabbis and pruners, arrived at the slaughterhouse in Csengele in recent weeks to help supply kosher meat to Europe.

The rabbis arrive in the country with a negative test in accordance with the epidemiological regulations of the COVID-19 epidemic. Six more shakers are expected to arrive this week.

Nearly 1 million kosher poultry are expected to be slaughtered at the slaughterhouse in Csengele by the end of 2020, representing almost 40% of the total European kosher market.

“At such a historic time, when a pandemic not only causes invaluable economic and social damage but also contributes to the rise of anti-Semitism worldwide, it is a truly significant gesture that the Hungarian government has been open and contributed to the smooth operation of kosher meat in Europe,” said Rabbi Menachem Margolin. European Jewish Association, head of the EJA.

“Europe’s kosher meat supply has had to face a long-standing challenge as a result of the pandemic. The contribution of the Hungarian government, despite its positive economic impact, is of symbolic significance, as while anti-Semitism is growing in the world, Hungary is setting an example against this phenomenon, ”added Slomó Köves, senior rabbi of the EMIH.
