At a press conference on the fake news, Vera Jourova, Vice-President of the European Commission, learned that in her forthcoming “national consultation” with the Orbán government, she said that “Brussels was preparing to challenge the immigration rules of the Hungarian constitution. They want to force us to change the provisions of our Basic Law prohibiting migration. ” Of course, the vice president immediately said it was “fake news, not true”.

The only question now is, how seriously can the European Union’s fight against false news and disinformation be taken if the EU has a member state whose government spends billions of taxpayers on misinformation, spreading false news and false propaganda? The Orbán regime maintains a propaganda factory, centrally editing newspapers, whose task is to spread government propaganda and to spread false news and disinformation. In Hungary, the function of the public service media is also to disseminate disinformation, false propaganda, fake news and false news. Part of this is incitement to hatred against the EU.

It is no excuse that Hungary is a small country and the Hungarian language is not spoken by others other than Hungarians, because the European Union should take firm action against the dissemination of false news and false news, and it is unacceptable that this is not through social media, independent press, but the government of a member state continues, from billions of taxpayers. The EU would have a duty to hold it accountable for complying with EU rules and laws, and to protect the freedom of information and the right of access to real news for all EU citizens, including Hungarian citizens.

At the press conference of the Vice-President of the European Commission, only one issue highlighted the zero protection of EU law and the inadequacy of bureaucracy: a large apparatus is being combated to combat disinformation, a lot of money is being spent, mosquitoes are being filtered and elephants are being let in. If a member state can claim that the EU is demanding a change in the Hungarian constitution, and that has no consequences, then what kind of fight is going on here against disinformation?

Orbán so-called His “national consultations” are the most gross category of abuse and disinformation, false propaganda, disguised as a matter, spreading false news, hatred, propaganda. They tell an ordeal lie to incite the EU or others and then “ask” the public about the lie if they approve of it. And they answer “no,” and the false news and the lie are already etched in their minds. These are the methods and means of Nazi propaganda that most use to attack liberal democracies, the rule of law, freedom and Western democracies.

Why is the EU letting the Orbán government spread lies about it?
