A nagyszabású hadgyakorlatban oroszlánrészt vállaltak a románok.

Mahmudiában, illetve a Fekete-tengeren, a konstancai katonai kikötőben.

A hadgyakorlat célja

A rendszeres Sea Shield hadgyakorlatokkal Románia – a 2016-os NATO-csúcson tett javaslatának szellemében – a szövetség délkeleti szárnyának megerősítéséhez, a NATO fekete-tengeri jelenlétének folyamatossá tételéhez járul hozzá.

The Romanians took the lion’s share in the large-scale military exercise.

Mandiner reported that China, Iran and Russia have started joint military exercises in the Gulf of Oman.

Subsequently, a large-scale international military exercise began on Monday in the Danube estuary and the Black Sea, organized by Romania, with the participation of ten NATO member states, as well as Moldova and Georgia.

According to the announcement of the Romanian Navy, in the joint operation codenamed Sea Shield 23, which will last until April 2, 3,400 soldiers, 30 Romanian, 2 Bulgarian warships, 14 airplanes and helicopters from France, Romania, the United States and Turkey,

15 rapid attack units of the Romanian national defense institutions, as well as 57 land military vehicles and artillery equipment will participate.

Military divers as well as nuclear, biological and chemical defense forces were also mobilized for the exercise. On Wednesday, the Romanian, Polish and Moldovan marines and the Romanian land units will hold live fire at the Babadag shooting range. Next week, they will practice the evacuation of the civilian population by water on the Danube.

in Mahmudia and on the Black Sea, in the military port of Constanta. During the military exercise, a public demonstration will also be organized in the Danube Delta, according to the scenario of which the soldiers have to neutralize an enemy airborne unit that has already reached the shore.

The purpose of the military exercise
With the regular Sea Shield military exercises, Romania – in the spirit of its proposal made at the 2016 NATO summit – contributes to the strengthening of the southeastern wing of the alliance and to the continuity of NATO’s presence in the Black Sea. This year’s naval exercise, the largest ever organized by Romania, was held after a one-year absence, after the military exercise was not held last year – due to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
